With Harris' IMAGES, users can scan, store, access, browse, manipulate,and format local and wire service photographs for today's demandingpublishing requirements. The only system with a unique file serversoftware architecture, IMAGES lets users insert and delete photos in arelational database, browse through the database photo inventory, editand enhance photos, interface to scanners and output devices, thenquickly configure the output to a particular prepress environment. Thesystem is based on industry software standards.With LAN protocols, IMAGES can be interfaced with a variety of imageediting workstations. Up to 32 images can be viewed with the browserwindow sized to a full 19-inch screen. Users can also crop, scale, androtate photos in one-tenth of one degree increments; and adjust contrastand brightness, color balance, and tonal values.
